As you likely gathered from our favorite automaker's offerings at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, we've got a whole lot to look forward to here at BMW Portland. Then again, that's not to say that things haven't been going famously these last nine months. Because now that September's sales numbers are in, it's time once again to break open the bubbly.

As you've probably gathered from all these stories of reckless drivers that we've been sharing with you as of late, safety is quite the priority for us here at BMW Portland. After all, there's good reason why our favorite automaker keeps pushing the envelope and raising their safety standards from one year to the next.

A few months back, we told you folks about the story of one terribly reckless driver and his 2013 BMW M3. Not surprisingly, things didn't work out too well for the guy, although it did serve as a great PSA for safe driving, something that's very dear to us here at BMW Portland. Unfortunately, some people out there just don't learn, which brings us to the story of one Christopher Adam Tang.

In case you haven't noticed, we've sure had hybrids on the brain as of late here at BMW Portland. The last time we touched base, we were counting down the days until the BMW i8 takes the stage at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Well as it just so happens, that's not the only EV that our favorite automaker will be unveiling in a couple weeks. And now that details have started to trickle in on the BMW Concept X5 eDrive, the excitement couldn't be greater.

Maybe we're just missing something, but we here at BMW Portland don't see too many plug-in hybrid supercars on the road when we're commuting to and from work each day. On the one hand, it's not all that surprising considering the tragic lack of plug-in hybrid supercars that are currently on the market. On the other, it's a darn shame. After all, we couldn't be more excited about the upcoming arrival of the BMW i8, and if all goes according to plan, plug-in hybrid supercars might be everywhere you look.

While we can't speak for the masses on this one, shopping in person isn't exactly our favorite activity here at BMW of Portland. Don't get us wrong, we love being on the other end of the counter and getting to spend time with our customers, but thanks to the internet, we shudder to remember what shopping once was. What can we say, it's a new generation of convenience, and with the arrival of the 2014 BMW X5 fast approaching, online shopping has never been more exciting.

As much as we adore the fuel-efficiency and power that come standard on this new and used car lineup of ours here at BMW Portland, this is merely the start of what's to come. In case you haven't heard, our favorite automaker will soon be ushering their very first EV onto our showroom floor, and if its recent unveiling was any indication, the BMW i3 can't get here soon enough.

Believe it or not, folks, but there's good reason why our favorite automaker here at BMW Portland places such a great emphasis on power and efficiency when it comes the engines in our lineup. After all, no one wants to compromise on things like that when they're buying a new or used car. Plus, when it comes to one of the biggest investments you're ever going to make, you want that beauty to last.

Remember the other week when we here at BMW Portland told you about that speed demon who drove his poor 2013 BMW M3 into a ditch? Even though it's his own darn fault and is exactly why we're such big advocates of safe driving in our new and used cars, we still can't help but feel bad for the guy. After all, not only did he total his beautiful car but he's now a worldwide embarrassment after having uploaded his footage of the crash to YouTube.

As much as we enjoy ourselves a good old-fashioned test drive here at BMW Portland, there's nothing more important to us than the safety of our drivers. Being all too familiar with the tempting natures of the powerful and fuel-efficient engines that go into our new and used cars, it's nothing short of a tragedy to see someone risk their life for the sake of a simple joyride. And as one bad driver with a camera will show you, it pays to obey the rules of the road.
