While power, performance, and luxury are the main ingredients in all new BMW models, efficiency is very important. The German automaker continues to innovate when it comes to providing options that save fuel and time for all of us in the greater Portland area. Today, we'd like to highlight some of those vehicles.
First is the BMW 3 Series that runs on diesel. With a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, it's making its debut in the U.S. this fall. Producing 180 horsepower, the model, which will be available in a wagon and all-wheel drive, is expected to produce 32 miles per gallon in the city and up to 45 mpg on the highway.
Next up is the 2013 BMW X1. It's a small SUV that has plenty of power. It with a 240-horsepower, four-cylinder engine and attains 22 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway, while also giving you that added dose of versatility and comfort.
Finally, there's a new option under the hood. We're talking about the three-cylinder engine that is set for its debut on the BMW i8 hybrid coupe. It's smaller and more economical, but it will still boast plenty of power while also reducing carbon emissions by 15 percent compared to the automaker's four-cylinder models.
