What is a Gasket?

A gasket quite simply is a cushioned piece placed between the facing of two parts that helps provide a protective seal in the joint. This helps prevent leaks into the area and helps keep your vehicle running how it should.

Gaskets are found in many different areas of your vehicle but are most commonly associated throughout the engine. Since they are such a pivotal piece to your vehicle, mechanics will often replace gaskets when working on vehicles during regular maintenance.
