The M4 was created to replace outgoing M3 coupe. Those are, admittedly, some mighty big shoes to fill; yet, the M4 has no trouble doing just that. It's lighter and leaner than its predecessor -- BMW claims a curb weight of approximately 3,300 pounds -- an endeavor made possible through the use of ultra-lightweight aluminum and carbon fiber components. The whip's weight loss also had a huge effect on its overall performance, too. Packing a prodigiously-powerful, twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder, the M4 can bound from zero to 60 mph in a freakishly-fast 4.1 seconds.
